Most Consecutive Strikeouts In A Game

Nolan Ryan and Tom Seaver in 1968.
“My job isn’t to strike guys out, its to get them out, sometimes by striking them out.” – Tom Seaver (New York Times, 1976).
Several pitchers, since 1893, have had 8 consecutive strikeouts in a game, including Nolan Ryan–twice. While with the California Angels, “The Ryan Express” struck out 8 consecutive Red Sox hitters on July 9th, 1972; and, on July 15th, 1973, he struck out 8 consecutive Tigers batters–on his way to a no-hitter.
